A colleague at work suggested these last week, she'd seen an article on probiotics being helpful for IBS sufferers. She actually went and bought some from Holland & Barrett as they're on half price at the moment, 250 capsules for £7.29.
Anyway I thought I would give them a go as my IBS has been pretty bad recently with all the stress going on in my life at the mo.
I started taking them on Saturday, just one capsule in the morning with some cold water (as they need to stay in the fridge) as heat kills the bacteria.
My 3rd day today and I think I can already feel the benefit, not uncomfortable bloating and wind so far... I think it maybe a miracle!
Just thought I would let you all know as I know some of you suffer too...

I will check Katie... maybe you could look it up online, I know that some of these things you buy from health food shops don't give you much info to go on. _________________ Never let a fool kiss you, or a kiss fool you!!

Yeah it's also recommended for thrush, which is handy as I get this occasionally too... _________________ Never let a fool kiss you, or a kiss fool you!!

When I'm at work normally, well for the last 2 weeks my IBS has been really bad... but the last 2 days I have eaten the same food but I feel fine, if it's not these capsules I don't know what it can be, as I am stressed as much as I was. _________________ Never let a fool kiss you, or a kiss fool you!!

Jo, I wish that I had known that you hadn't been taking acidopholus! I would have recommended it ages ago-it's my miracle ingredient, and I swear by it. I take it in this form daily-
http://www.victoriahealth.com/vhs...c/viewproducts.asp?idproduct=1434
If for any reason, I don't take it, I soon know about it. My gastroenterologist was/is sceptical, but he concedes that it's making a noticeable contribution to my problems. Am very impressed with Victoria Health, incidentally-no p+p, and goods are normally delivered within 36 hours. _________________ "I will not allow the fear of tomorrow rob me of the joy of today" |

Well been taking this for nearly 2 weeks (and they have been extra stressful) and my IBS is pretty much not worrying me at all. I tend to a few symptoms towards the end of the day, but it's such an improvement.
I will see how I go once I've moved and my stress levels have dipped, and possibly start to take 2 capsules to see if I can get rid of the symptoms altogether.
I am so pleased I've found this, I really hope it keeps working.
