Hi there everyone, I am Jennie, Jen to my friends and was invited to join the forum. I have conversed a little with HECATEH on another forum and she very kindly asked if I'd like to take a look at this forum. Thankyou!
I have not looked closely at many of the posts as yet, but thought I'd do a quick hello and brief introduction. Hoepfully as it'd Easter weekend I will have time to scour the forum with more ease and time.
I am 40yrs old and despite embracing 40 with ecitement (much more opportunity at 40 than at 30 wuth small kids!) I have probably had one of the worst years of my life resulting the break down of my nearly 22 yr marriage. I met hubby at 14 (friends since aged 4) and we nearly made 27 yrs together. He came with his problems (I won't bore you today) but it was mainly a positive loving marriage and I am in the grips of greiving and adjusting right now. It was I who instiagated the break up I supppose but it was not a decision taken lightly or quickly. AND I tried everything humanly possible to make the union a success. Out of teh sadness, I ahve ben amazed by my own strength. It's been empowering to see where you can claw the strength from(must have always been there I suppose!)
I work as Nanny(children are my life and I adore my job) and I have two beautiful intelligent and healthy(somehow well balanced) teenagers who I am immensely proud of. A stunningly beautiful(I am Mum, allowed to be biaised)inside and out 17yr old daughter studing A levels. And a cheeky but effectionate boy of nearly 14(hey! He is my baby!)
I have a good sense of humour and try and see the good and positive in everything as it seems to be a good way of getting by.
Enough waffling for now. Thanks for invite and hello!

Really pleased to see you on here Jennie.
WLR is great and there are many supportive people but there are also a few pretty judgemental ones and I cringe sometimes at some of their comments.
Have a good look round and I hope you feel comfortable enough to join in. _________________ “You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses.”

Hi Jennie-great to have you with us.
Sorry to hear about your marriage break up-always so sad when a relationship fails, but you sound as if you're coping as best you can (supported no doubt by your wonderful kids-I have a couple of these too!)
I agree wholeheatedly with your last sentence (although maybe not about my sense of humour...), and feel that trying to find the positive in any given situation really does lighten the load.
(My sense of humour may be suss, but I do a good waffle ) _________________ "I will not allow the fear of tomorrow rob me of the joy of today" |

WELCOME!
It does amaze me where people find strength when they are quite down and having a bad period in your life.
I agree about finding the positives in everything that happens in life. What's the point in dwelling on the negatives? _________________ handmade by Laura Croxson |

Hi Jen, you've certainly come to the best place for positive support! Sorry to hear about the break-up - these things are always sad, even when it's inevitable. Good to hear about your positive outlook on life, and yes, it IS amazing where we can find strength from when we need to.
Welcome aboard!! |
