This is a very interesting site - well I think so.
You can complete a very comprehensive questionnaire and it will tell you your 'real' age in terms of health.
There is a separate questionnaire just about diet and I think others - but I've spent too much time there today already.
I am about 6.5 years 'younger' than my physical age and could improve that even more with strengtt and toning exercises (to add to my fitness work) and slight dietry modifications.
It is all free and they don't sell vitamins/supplements etc so it isn't about a hard sell on products.
Covers some genetic/family type stuff as this has a bearing (Mum and Dad both being alive and 86 & 91 respectively helps)
My 'real' age is 46.2 which sounds a lot better than 53. From diet alone my age is 51.4 and I could get it down another year by modifying slightly (mainly reducing cheese, wine, eggs and increasing fruit veg and taking vit E, C and folic acid) I already take loads of supplements so a few more wont hurt.

I'm very sceptical too. I was expecting to receive a high age, due to my health issues. But I'm apparently 47, which I simply can't believe.
I also did one a few days ago which estimated my life expectancy at 96. Think these things are fun, but have to be taken with a huge pinch of salt! _________________ "I will not allow the fear of tomorrow rob me of the joy of today" |

One of the things for mine that kept me old was - owning a dog!! But in the next bit they were saying that it keeps you young... I was a bit confused, especially as I put that I owned a cat! _________________ Never let a fool kiss you, or a kiss fool you!!

I thought you could put in how ever much veg you wanted.
With regards the small car and speed I think it is more that - in America - you are more likely to die in an accident if you have a smaller car (or drive over the speed limit) so that brings the average age of death down - but that's crackers cos you either die early from it or you don't it doesn't bring your death forward by a specific amount.
Flossing - well gum disease is often linked to heart disease so that's why that one is in. (Or rather the germs that cause some heart disease are present in the mouth and more so in people who don't floss).
The network one - I counted online communities as social groups so I scored ok on that one. _________________ “You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses.”

Well I'm not dissing it I like the idea of being so much younger than I am.
It clearly doesn't take all the variables into account and some things - like the car issue - are very American but I think it is generally pretty good at hilighting what you are doing well at or otherwise.
You Elaine - I guess - actually live a healthy life and make healthy choices - it doesn't compute for shitty bad luck! _________________ “You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses.”
