Jenny's chosen her wedding dressThe first dress she tried on, and she loved it! She sent me the following links a few days ago, and fortunately one of the shops in Exeter had a size 12 in ivory:

She would really like the colour in the pics (platinum), so the shop is geting a swatch for her in the next few days. She's quite convinced that she will prefer it to the ivory, but agreed that ivory is a good second choice, if it can't be made in platinum in time. We hadn't appreciated that it takes so long-4 to 5 months, so we're neat for time, but we've been reassured that if there are any delays, we can have the one in stock. She looked absolutely stumnning-it fitted not too badly at all, although was a bit loose around the top, but only minor alterations are necessary. We've a ceilidh band booked for the evening's entertainment, so we are also arranging for it to be bunched at the back -velcroed no doubt-for the evening.
It was amazing to see her-tall, slim and stunning:where did my baby go!? I'm sure Sam will be completely blown away when he sees her.....

Oh wow, it's gorgeous Elaine.
Whenever I see these dresses nowadays (like Fi's) it makes me wish I could be a size 12, have lots of money, and get married again.
Hope she manages to get the one she wants, and look forward to seeing her in it.
Remind us the date again?

3pm on March 6th, Kathy.
Arrangements coming along nicely. Fabulous location for ceremony and reception (where we had many happy holidays when the kids were young). Ceilidh band booked for the evening reception-for 3.5 hours, so reckon we'll be cream crackered after that! We have 18 bedrooms at our disposal, so are easily able to accomodate the immediate wedding party, overnight and the night before, and a few friends too. It's turning out to be more "traditional" than we anticipated. Jenny wants to leave from home, so we've had to book a stretch limo to accomodate us. It's a trip of about 20 miles, so felt that the bride's nerves would be more soothed if we were all in car together. She's having a girly night with her bridesmaids, (not out on town, just chatting and maybe a few dvds), before Brian collects them in the morning to come around here for a bucks fizz breakfast....and all systems go.
Brian's Mum will be making the cake-and Jenny being Jenny, has requested chocolate! So few people like fruit cake nowadays, that this seems like a good option-but poor m.i.l has been thrown in at the deep end, and will have to experiment with recipes! Recently she won a prize at the Royal Highland Show for a shrug she has knitted. Very fine, and in white she's bringing it down when she comes to stay in a few weeks, to see if Jenny could use it. It'll be absolutely stunning, so I'm sure it'll be used in some way-if only for the evening, but hopefully it'll be suitable enough to use for the ceremony itself.
Am relieved now we're getting to the stage that most of the main arrangements are in place, and we can relax and enjoy the fine tuning-except for seating plans, as apparently there are a few family members that Sam's Dad doesn't get on with-this was inevitable, I guess, as he and Sam's Mum divorced many years ago.

It's stunning - I love the attention to detail on the back of wedding dresses these days.
Sounds like it will be a fabulous day.

Wow Elaine. Her dress is absolutely stunning! The detail on the back is fabulous, I would like something similar for my own wedding dress, but with sleeves.

Thanks Ros-it certainly is amazing. She too would have preferred something with sleeves, but even at this time of the year couldn't find any that she liked. She's nervous at the thought of needing to use a strapless bra! We're hoping that the shrug/bolero that Brian's Mum has knitted might be added-but not if it spoils the look. Fortunately m.i.l. is perfectly understanding and accepts that it may not be used-although she will use it for wandering about outside-such amazing surroundings that we'll all be glad to get out for a stroll at some point.

That's unusual that there was nothing with sleeves at this time of year, must be the fashion to have no sleeves. The shrug/bolero sounds like a lovely idea, if it goes with the dress. My sister had a long wrap the same colour as her dress and she needed it even though she got married in August! I saw some of the photos of the venue and it looks fabulous Elaine!
