They're gorgeous Laura - you've got such a lovely family.  The flowers were stunning.  Glad it was such a lovely  day x

Is your Nonna your Dad's Mum (or am I just imagining a family reesemblance?)
lauzc

My nonna is my mum's mum, but there is a family link back about 4-5 generations (cousins somewhere). She is the only grandparent we have left alive and its her 80th this year in October (big party being planned as a surprise in QLD where her sisters live)! Her sisters are the two ladies next to her in this family pic.

Dawn - I didn't make the flowers in the end as I didn't know if I was coming or going, but there are gorgeous nonetheless. I made some for the church which I will post later on.

Lovely - so are you Italian Laura?
lauzc

Yes, my mum and dad were born in Italy (Sicily) and there whole heritage is Italian. They migrated to Australia when they were very young. I'm sure I have mentioned this before...

Probably Laura - but I have the retention span of a gnat at the moment

I am so envious - after tracing back my family tree (400 years+) the elusive 'Italian connection' that was supposedly there has failed to materialise for me.  I always used to joke that it was that thimble-full of Italian blood that 'fired' all the rest around my body.  However, in my heart and in my soul there shall remain some mystical element of me that is forever Italian (whether it can be proven or not) lol.

I love the country, the food, the people, the language - whenever I visit Italy it's like going 'home'.

Cherish it always - it's special, just like you xxx

As I get older, I am enjoying my heritage more and more. I took it for granted when I was younger and even embarrassed by it. Not any more - like you - I love everything about Italy and Italians. I am so glad my parents taught to speak the language from a young age.

Envy is not a good trait - but I can't help it lol xxx  I'll have to go back to my Italian studies when I've finished my marketing and then I'll be begging for help! lol x
