Some exciting newsJennifer and Sam had the weekend away at a lovely 15th century hotel in Dunster-and returned home engaged! Brian drove them up after work on Friday, and just as he left them, Sam had a quiet word, and asked his permission to ask Jen to mary him. Needless to say, permission was granted! He didn't say anything to me (in case she turned him down...as if!).
They make a great couple, have been together for 2 and a half years now. Sam bought the ring a few months ago, and he originally planned to ask her when they moved to the new flat, but he felt that the romantic gesture this weekend, on the beach, would be nicer. They're both glowing with excitement. Brian went back to pick them up this afternoon, so first stop was home to give me the news.Sam's family are in Australia, so they're phoning them this evening with the news. As his Mum has been hoping they would get engaged for a while now, I suspect that she'll be pleased too!

Thanks everyone-can't you just feel Sam's pride?! He's such a genuinely lovely and caring person-we're very sure that he will love and cherish her-just as she does him.
