The wedding is set!

All went so well at the weekend, that there was no hesitation for either Jenny or Sam, who both loved Lakeview Manor, near Honiton (which will forever be known to us as "Fishponds"!). The location of many happy holidays when the kids were young, it seems very fitting to have the wedding and reception there too.

They say they want quite a small wedding, but the numbers are already approaching 100, so not too sure about that! Jenny is rather like me (ie, a jeans and tshirt type of gal), so has no desire for lots of frothy lace, etc, but I'm sure we will find something lovely for her. The males in the family are more inclined to dress up-and already the kilts are being aired. As you know, we're all immensely proud of our Scottish heritage, so there will no doubt be some tartan, and heather in evidence-to say nothing of a ceilidh in the evening!

Date too has been set-27th March, so not long to wait. We had to have quite an early date, as Sam's brother, who recently passed out from Sandhurst, is due to be depolyed to Afghanistan in April, so we had to make it before then. They didn't plan on having a long engagement, and both wanted a spring wedding, so this suits very well.

Here's a few photos-in the first to the left, the conservatory, where the ceremony will be held, and the marquee on the right is for the reception. With 50 acres of grounds to roam (and 4 ponds), it's a truly lovely setting.

Beautiful Place for a great happening.

You must be feeling pretty emotional about your baby moving on.  In a happy way - as she clearly has met her soul mate

Was away at my brother's daughter's wedding at the weekend.  She was the first of the family generation to tie the knot and it was pretty emotional.  Never seen my brother look so proud!
