 Sorry Tina - that was a joke to me - because I have all the weight I can deal with at the moment. It wasn't meant to offend x

Dawn you didn't offend me, I just thought you meant I was asking his weight, (which i'd never do) but now i've re-read it i think you meant 'dont' share the actual weight' with us because we've all got enough of our own kind of thing... oh i dunno, feeling a bit sensitive and fed up this evening, just ignore me eh

Hey hun - Don't get low - I'm on my second glass of wine (large), tears all evening reading the boards because I've just sat and ate food (pre-prepared by hubby prior to his going skiing)! and feel as big as a house. Accidentally took a photo of my face whilst I was trying to text the kids and thought "who is the fat old bird looking at me?" Yep ... It's me. Scared to admit my weight - even to myself. Scared of this coming operation. Scared of how much anaesthetic I'm going to have to have. Feeling pretty stupid, old and fat.

What are we doing to ourselves? I have tried going to WeightWatchers and get fed up at the patronising tones of skinny women whose "fat" pictures aren't as fat as me. Fed up of people saying "well, you're tall aren't you". No - to be truthful, to match the weight I think I am I would probably need to be 9 feet tall!

(((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))) We will get through this you know. We will lose some weight and we will feel healthier for it - by working at it together x (((((((((((((((((((((more hugs)))))))))))))))))))))

Angelfruit, try not to worry too much about the anaesthetic. Today's Anaesthetists are excellent at their job what ever the problems. I know the risk are said to increase when you are carrying extra weight but modern anaesthetic are improving all the time. I've had fourteen operations starting in the 1950's to the present day. In the last five years I have had two quite major ones as well as a couple on minor day jobs and the anaesthetists where wonderful and took excellent care of me.

PS Sorry Gary you're welcome has be hi jacked!

Thank you Blueflower (ditto sorry to Gary).

I have had lots of ops - I think this one is scaring me more than others though because it is the one that my Dad's Mum (died before I was born) died of in 1949. I know medicine has moved on a lot - but I get all worked up about it and sometimes even dream that I will follow her ... to the point where I have written letters to o/h about "women's things, boyfriends etc" for the girls "just in case"! Thanks for all the support x

Lets us know when you go in to hospital angelfruit so we can send you lots of good thoughts to help you through.

Thanks Blueflower. Seeing my Surg on Tuesday (45th birthday - depressing!) so hopefully should know when it will be roughly, after that. (((((((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))) to all x

Hi everyone,

I've been away for a few weeks so just noticed this thread. Thanks for the welcome. I'm looking forward to getting more involved here once I've got all caught up and I'll be sure to drop into the weight loss zone for support and advice.

:D
