We've had some discussion on here and most of us on RISI too about geneology and how far back we have gone. Wondered if a few of you would like to share your findings in more detail - espcially any interesting stories you may have about your forbears - any rogues or villains, royalty or filmstars amongst you.
Also could use this forum to discuss the more general things about hereditary as well.
What ever you like really if it fits under the headings even vaguely it'll do for me.

For those who have not seen the post on RISI, I am not setting myself up as an expert but if I can I would be willing to answer any general questions on the subject.
I also have alot of County specific material, trade directories, census, births marriages and Deaths for Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and some Warwickshire.
Hopefully I have acquired some knowledge over the years to be able to guide/help any newer searcher.

Maybe I'll start this again and look out my information which is all put away at the moment.

I began researching my family tree a few years ago and did manage to trace back to the early 1800s (1700 something in one case).

I went to a little free class run locally where we all were given a free password to share for the website that has all the censues on it.

When the class finished I not only found I was floundering with no one to ask for help and advice but I just couldn't afford to continue.

I did find out some interesting stuff but with nobody to share it with (my oh isn't interested at all) I lost interest and put all the files of information away.

Maybe I'll take it up again.
